2/28/2017 0 Comments Step Inside My ClosetSo when I think of a typical girls' closet, I tend to think of severely overflowing and possibly just a huge mess. But hey, maybe that's just my closet! At home, I've got a total of 3 closets to store all of my clothes, shoes, scarves, bags, and whatever else. So as you may imagine, moving into a dorm was super hard. I wanted to bring each and every item of clothing I owned, but that little closet wasn't close enough to compare to the 3 closets at home. I had my closet full to where you could barely move the hangers (which is THE worst) and the drawers stocked full. Lets talk about what I keep in these 3 closets of mine!
When it comes to clothing, I used to have no sense of style whatsoever. Throughout high school I sort of got my groove but fell into the trap of wearing nothing but shorts, t-shirts, sweats, and sweatshirts ALL senior year. No joke, I looked homeless all the time. I am almost embarrassed to say that I wore the lame high school t-shirts almost everyday. Since Adam was away at school while I was still in high school, I had the "I have no one to impress" idea going I suppose. Adam is one who has a very keen sense of style when it comes to both shoes and clothes. I sometimes joke that he's more of the girl than I am. He is in the know with the best kicks and is kind enough to tell me when I straight up look terrible, which is better than it sounds. I (now in college) have finally found a bit of a groove and have a sort of style that fits me for me. I would say I don't really stick to the "trends" per say, yet do fix up a few "basic" outfits sometimes. The trend for young women right now seems to be leggings/jeans with a pair of wedged boots (black or brown, they're all the same.) So, I guess I am proud to say I don't own any booties so I don't feel too basic ;) No offense to anyone wearing the boots with pants thing, it's all good. This is a long blog, I know.. but stick with me! SO ANYWAYS. My style either consists of jeans and some sort of top or leggings with some sort of top. I have finally strayed away from wearing high school t-shirts and wear actual IU gear or just normal human shirts. I usually do jeans shopping at either American Eagle, Forever 21, or Hollister. All have things that'll fit to what I'm looking for just depends if I want to spend a ton for AE jeans or find some deals at Forever 21. When it comes to tops I literally go anywhere. Once again, AE, Forever 21, Hollister (very seldom wonder in unless there if they're having a big sale), Old Navy, and here recently boutiques! I've found a boutique here in Bloomington that I LOVE - Piace Boutique and one in Greenwood that I am obsessed with - Raelynn's. I am finding that I am into camo and colors such as black, army green, cream/white, and maroon. I picture myself to be a popular fan of athletic wear. Love, love, love, Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour attire. Accessories were never something I used really prior to college, but I'm now finding I am all about accessorizing. I pick up items here and there at the boutique here in town and I've been wearing my necklaces/chokers, bracelets, and earrings much more often. Lastly, lets talk about my shoes! I am a shoe fanatic and it just so happens Adam is as well, so basically we encourage one another to buy most likely way too many shoes. I often wear Vans, Converse, Adidas - Stan Smith's, Toms, and at home obviously my cozy slippers. When it comes to athletic shoes I own mostly Nike shoes, but do own a pair of Brooks which are SO comfortable by the way. To sum this all up, I could shop just about anywhere and enjoy finding all sorts of new things whether it's shoes, clothes, accessories, etc. Online shopping is one of my best hobbies and is really my favorite way to shop. No crowds, lines, and best of all you don't even have to leave the couch! As I leave you, I'd love to hear of any different stores/sites that you all shop from that I could check out, so please comment below if you've got any suggestions! Happy Wednesday :) xoxo, mackenzie
